Being a Korean adoptee has both defined and hindered my life in many ways, and I often struggle to explain the experience of being adopted. The internet has given me many opportunities, one of them being to connect with other adoptees and to share our commonalities and life experiences that others don’t understand. As adoptees, our perspectives are often overlooked and not considered in favour for those trying to adopt. I want to contribute to getting our stories heard and changing the narrative around adoption, one story at a time.
This project is ongoing for the foreseeable future as I’m lucky to have had a lot of volunteers for this project! You can see their portraits and stories below.
